Born in Kosice, in the former Czechoslovakia, Ingrid immigrated as a young child with her family to Calgary, in 1968. After excelling through high school, Ingrid attended the University of Calgary and Mount Royal College. Following her mother’s and grandmother’s foot steps, Ingrid chose a career in education. While attending college Ingrid worked as a Childcare Assistant and in 1984 she became the Special Needs Coordinator at the U of C Day Care Centre. Two years later she moved to Vancouver in 1986, and was employed full time at McGregor Childcare Center at VCC. Her hard work ethic earned her a promotion to a Program Supervisor in one year. Even though her formal education and ongoing training was in Early Childhood Development Education, Ingrid was able to express her creative talents through photography, art and design. Since the inception of Upright Designs, and being employed full time, she still had energy to design and set up events on many weekends and late nights. After 24 years as an educator and supervisor, Ingrid joined our company full time in 2006. Her organizational and supervisory skills and experience, along with her creative talents, have made her an essential addition to our team.
